Go on an adventure with this VW T5 named 'COSMOS'!

With plenty of adventure under its belt, it'll take you off the beaten track, thanks to its permanent 4-wheel drive and automatic gearbox for added driving comfort.

If you take good care of it, it'll take you to the ends of the earth (or almost)!

I've fitted it out entirely so that it's a nice 'home from home' on the road, with plenty of modern comforts. The full list of equipment is available below.

TECHNICAL DATA

It has a truly complete electrical autonomy, even for several days at a standstill! A solar panel and charger charge the lithium battery at the rear using the sun and the engine (when the vehicle is moving). You'll also benefit from several USB sockets, 2 220V sockets (max 300W), a cigar-lighter socket and a number of LED lights (warm white or colored for a variety of moods).

A stationary heater (for the rear section) is also installed. It runs on diesel (no smell in the van, of course), and is fed by a small 10L tank positioned behind the driver's seat. You can get 24 degrees inside the van with sub-zero temperatures outside in about half an hour.

WATER

You have a sink with a pump immersed in a 20L clean water tank. An additional 20L jerrycan is also present, for a total of 40L of clean water. A 20L jerrycan collects waste water from the sink. A small showerhead is provided for outdoor showering.

On request, a portable water heater can also be rented, with a small gas bottle for instant heating of your outdoor shower water.

Toilets are dry toilets, with everything you need included (sawdust, bags and 2 rolls of toilet paper). All this is stored in the small white box next to the bench in the photos. The box is on wheels for easy movement. It's also possible to take it outside, for a better view ;-)

KITCHEN

A fully-equipped kitchen with all basic utensils, crockery and cutlery for 4 people, frying pan and saucepans, gas stove with several gas cartridges included. A fridge with a capacity of over 50L completes the installation. Also included is a small kitchen stock with classic condiments.

BED

The bed consists of a 75cmx200cm rectangular bench which can be unfolded in 2 ways. Either in L-shape, or as a 2-seater bed measuring 125x200cm. The mattress is 10cm thick foam. Decorative cushions are included, but not as pillows! I can supply 2 on request :) Please bring your own sheets, pillowcases and comforter cover (240x220). A mattress protector is included and stored under the bench seat.

The passenger seat can be turned back (only when stationary, of course!) to give you more living space.

EXTERIOR

Outside equipment includes a table and 2 camping chairs. You'll also have 2 1-person hammocks (straps included). The kitchen stove can be placed outside if you wish.

The van has 2 rear doors that open to 180°, 2 side doors that are both glazed and whose windows open with safety catches. Blackout and thermal curtains are fitted to the 2 side windows, as well as to the partition between the rear area and the driver's compartment.

The van is fitted with all-terrain tires, enabling it to venture onto terrain not necessarily suited to conventional cars. However, it is not designed for river crossings etc.

A bicycle rack on the left rear door is also available on request, at a small extra charge (€5 per day). You can fit 2 bicycles on this rack (beware of the height, which exceeds that of the vehicle!), which will still allow you to open the rear doors without hindrance.

It's also equipped with an LED headlight in the front grille, with separate switch. This ultra-powerful headlight can't be used on public roads, but is perfect for helping you find a spot in the dark on unlit lanes.

Also present are a pair of jumper cables, and a tow strap to get you (or other travelers) out of a tricky situation. Let's hope you won't need them ;-)

COSMOS has already covered many miles in my company (Belgium, Denmark, Iceland, France and Switzerland) and is already looking forward to setting off on new adventures with you!

It is equipped with the Swiss vignette, the Crit'Air vignette (France), and can still access the Belgian LEZ until the end of 2023.
